The Market Today—and Tomorrow The federal government purchases billions of dollars in goods and services each year. It is the policy of the United States that all small businesses have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate in providing goods and services to the government. The federal IT budget for FY 2006 is $63.5 billion and for FY 2007 is $63.8 billion (source: INPUT.)
