Expansion builds on existing relationship between Arrow ECS and Hitachi in North America ENGLEWOOD, Colo., and BRISBANE, Calif., December 17, 2007 —Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS), a business unit of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW), and the Server Systems Group (SSG) of Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT/TSE 6501), today announced an agreement designating Arrow ECS as the first distributor for Hitachi's BladeSymphony® servers. "This agreement not only expands our Hitachi portfolio but also enhances Arrow ECS' ability to provide authorized partners with required enterprise computing solutions," said Sean Kerins, vice president of Arrow ECS' Storage Group. Through this agreement, Arrow ECS will be the first distributor in North America for the Hitachi BladeSymphony 1000 with Virtage and BladeSymphony 320 servers. BladeSymphony addresses the computing needs for all tiers of the datacenter. To address enterprise-class computing needs, BladeSymphony with Virtage provides the most efficient virtualization solution for end users today. Hitachi America, SSG previously sold BladeSymphony through direct sales and select reseller channels in North America. This agreement enables Hitachi to leverage Arrow ECS' extensive relationships and scale to deliver its BladeSymphony solutions to more authorized resellers and end users. As the distributor for nearly 75 leading hardware, software and storage suppliers, Arrow ECS brings the ability to connect its valued reseller partners with complementary products to create complete solutions for end-user needs. The BladeSymphony solutions are designed to work with both Hitachi Data Systems and other third-party storage products distributed by Arrow ECS.
