You can choose from two lines of UltraSPARC IV- or UltraSPARC III-based high-end systems to meet your application workload requirements. The Sun Fire E20K and E25K servers are Sun's first high-end throughput computing systems powered by the chip multithreading technology of the UltraSPARC IV processor. These servers deliver up to twice the performance of the current UltraSPARC III-based Sun Fire 12K and 15K servers in the same footprint.
Sun's midrange family of servers provides enterprise-class performance and availability for mission-critical applications. You can choose from two lines of UltraSPARC IV- or UltraSPARC III-based midrange systems to meet your application workload requirements. The Sun Fire E2900, E4900 and E6900 servers are Sun's first midrange throughput computing systems powered by the chip multithreading technology of the UltraSPARC IV processor. These servers deliver up to twice the performance of Sun's current UltraSPARC III-based Sun Fire V1280, 4800, and 6800 servers in the same footprint.
